Welcome to Sheetix ("we," "us," or "our").

Sheetix is a template-based, offline-first application that connects directly to your own Google Sheets. It helps you manage inventory, business data, or any custom workflow you define through templates.

Our core principle: Your data belongs to you. Sheetix is simply a smart interface and automation layer — we do not store or own your data.

2. How Sheetix Works

• Sheetix runs primarily in your browser (offline-first)
• All your actual data lives in your Google Sheets
• The app can sync manually or automatically with your sheets
• We donot operate a traditional backend database that holds your inventory or business data

Because of this design, the vast majority of your data never touches our servers. Sheetix is currently free to use. We do not collect payment or billing information.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Authentication Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive:

• Name
• Email address
• Google Account ID
• Profile picture (if available)

3.2 Google Sheets Access

We only access the specific spreadsheets you choose to connect. This may include inventory, customers, suppliers, sales, purchases, or any custom data based on your chosen template.

3.3 Local / Offline Data

Some settings and temporary data may be stored in your browser's local storage or cache to enable offline use and faster performance. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us unless you manually trigger a sync.

3.4 Technical Data

We collect minimal technical information such as:

• Browser type and version
• Device and operating system
• IP address (temporary, for security)
• Basic feature usage (for debugging and product improvement)

We do not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles.

3.5 Cookies

Sheetix uses a minimal set of cookies to provide essential functionality:

• Session cookies: Set by Better Auth to keep you signed in securely. These are strictly necessary for authentication.
• Preference cookies:Store UI preferences such as sidebar state (collapsed/expanded) to remember your choices across sessions.

We do not use:

• Advertising cookies
• Third-party tracking cookies
• Cookies for cross-site behavioral tracking

Your browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies. However, please note that blocking session cookies will prevent you from signing in to Sheetix.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only to:

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in
• Enable reading from and writing to your connected Google Sheets
• Provide core app functionality and offline support
• Improve performance, reliability, and user experience
• Detect and fix technical or security issues
• Send essential service and security notifications

5. Google OAuth & Permissions

5.1 Permissions We Request

Sheetix uses Google OAuth 2.0 and requests only the minimum required permissions:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file

drive.file lets us create new spreadsheets (e.g. when you set up a template) and read/write only the files Sheetix creates or the files you explicitly select — we do not request broad Google Drive access.

You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account → Security → Third-party apps.

5.2 Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Sheetix's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use Google user data to serve ads, and we do not allow humans to read your spreadsheet data unless specifically requested by you for support purposes or if required for security/legal investigations.

6. Data Storage & Ownership

• Your data is stored entirely in your Google Sheets and remains fully under your control.
• We do not copy, store, or own your inventory or business data.
• We only handle temporary session information and minimal technical logs (which are automatically deleted after a short period).

You retain complete ownership of all your data.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

We share information only when necessary:

• With Google (for authentication and Sheets API)
• With trusted infrastructure providers (e.g., Vercel for hosting)
• When required by law or to protect rights and safety

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your information.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communications
• Secure, stateless authentication
• Regular security reviews

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You have full control:

• Revoke Sheetix's access to your Google Sheets anytime
• Clear local browser data at any time
• Delete your Sheetix account and associated authentication data
• Stop using the app whenever you wish

10. Children's Privacy

Sheetix is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. International Users

Sheetix may be accessed from anywhere in the world. Our infrastructure providers may process data in different regions (including the United States). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Sheetix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
